Arlene Murphy, BFA (hons) Arlene has been teaching and creating in one form or another for her entire life. She has a gift for simplifying what appears complex and brings this approach to her painting classes. In 2016 she achieved a life-long goal and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree. This experience informs everything she does, from her Fine Art practice to her private and group classes. . During the Paint 'n Palooza© classes Arlene will guide participants in learning how to paint while exploring the freedom that comes from being creative. She will teach students how to mix colour, apply paint and consider compositional elements to create depth and texture. Andrea Mercier, aka "Anlome" Leamington artist Andrea Mercier creates fluid acrylic pours, acrylic paintings and mixed media artwork under the pseudonym “Anlome”. Additionally, she creates videos on acrylic painting and fluid acrylic pouring on her YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/c/AndreaMercierArtist and helps new or hobby artists discover and navigate the world of fine arts. During Paint ‘n Palooza© classes, Andrea will guide the class in colour theory, fluid acrylic pouring, mixed media and abstract design. |
Sally LePla, MA, JD Artist Sally LePla splits her time between Michigan and Leamington, Ontario. Blending her artistic endeavors with careers in whole-system change facilitation, counseling and law, she has a love for all things art and all things people. Sally delights in helping others discover the artist within — loving the step-by-step encouragement that allows them to leave each class with a sense of accomplishment and a new artwork worthy of showing to others. She enjoys experimenting with many different art styles and media, producing paintings from the whimsical to the more classical. Her inspirations are those things she sees that call her to paint. Her happiness is seeing others discover they can produce wonderful art. In the Paint ’n Palooza© classes, Sally will spend time with individual students to help them master the steps being taught. The result will be a confident vibrant painting to take to your home, business or share as a treasured gift. |
Sara Ann Shields, BFA (hon), DTATI, Nia White Belt Certified
Sara Ann grew up with an expanded imagination and natural desire to blend creativity into all that she did. She believes in the healing and sense of empowerment that the creative process can gift to a person. She graduated with her BFA (hon) in 2008, and her Masters equivalent in Art Therapy in 2014. She is known for her public art murals in Newmarket and Markham, Ontario, and her community work in art therapy with service industries, such as Hospice and Bereaved Families of York Region. She has a passion to empower others to explore their creative potential, through teaching accessible artistic techniques and holding a safe, accepting space for clients to grow in.
